Norwood is underway...

In what became a whirlwind scheduling adventure...Zoe is now in surgery, undergoing the Norwood procedure. The surgery was scheduled so suddenly for two reasons, one, because of immediate surgical availability; and two, because Zoe's oxygen saturation was a bit high, which means she is over-circulating, or her heart is sending too much blood to her lungs and not enough to her body.

The entire surgical process should take approximately three to four hours, with anesthesia, surgery, recovery, etc...

Before we walked Zoe to the operating room doors and said goodbye, we were able to spend about 35 minutes with her, most of that time Stacey got to hold her. Check out that hair (Zoe's not mommy's.)

We even posed for a quick family picture.

And one more close up of Zoe, since she's so cute.

There are obviously risks to the surgery, however, we are confident in our surgical team.

We'll update as we receive information.
