January - Good Times!

Well, the first month of 2009 was all Cardinals. Caleb lucked out and went to the Cards v. Panthers game in Carolina with his firm.

Emmy and I watched the game at home. I'm certain I scared Emerson with all of my screaming and jumping around. I showed Emerson that Daddy was on TV giving Coach Whis a low-five, but she didn't seem to care.

Caleb and I, long-time season ticket holders (yes, I am compelled to add that since apparently everyone is now a Cards fan) went through a rollercoaster of emotions at the Cards v. Eagles game. We cheered, had heart palpatations, screamed at officials, more heart palpatations, until we cried at the end of the game. Hugging complete strangers and screaming, "Can you believe it?!"
No, Emmy didn't make it to the game, she stayed with Grandma and Grandpa...maybe next year she can don the red and white face paint.

Mommy and daddy weren't the only ones to enjoy themselves this January, Emerson did as well. She played with her new toys, visited the zoo (again), met her Uncle Brian, brunched with Sedona, mastered sitting up, developed a love for Cheerios and figured out how to let mommy know when she's really frustrated (straight arms, clenched fists, wide eyes, pursed lips.) This action isn't too different from her 'mommy i'm really excited' moments (straight arms, clenched fists, wide eyes, big smile.)

Emmy also spent time with her great-grandpa and grandma. Happy birthday Great-Grandpa Muenich!

And last, but definitely not least, January brought best friends together for some long-awaited, much-needed, quality time.

All-in-all, it was a great month. Thankfully, the Super Bowl was on February 1 and didn't ruin our January Good Times!
